Mt. Katahdin, 2014

I have not done well updating my blog this year.  It has been a busy spring with work and I have not had much time to be on the water, but hope that is changing.  Today I am going to share some pictures I took this last weekend in northern Maine, in the West Branch of the Penobscot River.  I have posted pictures from here before.  Most of my posts feature southern Maine spots, but this is a place that is near and dear to my heart and I find it breathtaking...

While there this time I spent a lot of time in my kayak.  I saw only one moose and two deer while padding and am disappointed with the pictures I got of the four legged furry creatures, but found lots of other things to photograph. Hope you enjoy, and I will try to get out to some new spots and share them soon!

This is a reflection... the reflections in the morning and in the evening are amazing!

She saw me before I saw her and took off into the woods with her baby before I could get better pictures.

They are hard to make out, but there are two tadpoles in this picture...

Loons mate for life...

This was not taken while in my kayak, but that's my dad fishing and had to share!

I love dragonflies...notice its reflection...
