Kezar Pond Fall Paddle... from the drafts

Body of Water:   Old Saco River to Kezar Pond, Fryeburg, Maine [Map 4 A2, to Ma- 10 E2 and E1]

Directions:  See this blog post for directions...

Notes: As I am working on the blog this week, I am looking at some of the drafts that never got published!  Sadly these photos didn't get published... this was a great trip in the fall a few years ago. This truly is a beautiful spot and these fall photos are worth sharing.  While we are just about to enter the start of the paddling season... it is never too early to plan for fall colors and this paddle is a gorgeous fall adventure!!

People often ask me what my favorite place to paddle is... There are several... but this is definitely in the top 10!!

This is a post with just photos of this amazing trip!  For more details see the link above or search Old Saco in the search bar.

The shoreline of Kezar Pond was stunning with the White Mountains in the background.

As you paddle out from the Old Saco River to Kezar Pond you can see a beach across the pond.  This has become my destination when I paddle here - It is a great spot for lunch or dinner as you take a break!

I mean seriously - look at those mountains!!

On our October trip, costumes were encouraged... and this was the Grim Reaper... sadly, the fin on that paddle board caught a rock in the river which was low at the time and the mighty Grim Reaper fell... if you do want to SUP here, especially when water is low - maybe remove your fin.

(Don't worry, she was ok)

Because the water was a bit low there were some spots that were a bit tricky, but everyone made it through... I got out at one point to help people through a very shallow area.

Returning to the launch site...

Yes, that is a bunny! (remember it was almost Halloween!)

These photos are from the river heading out to the pond!
