My Book!!

One opportunity that the blog has brought me is the co-authoring of a guidebook, Paddling Southern Maine! It is something in which I take a lot of pride! My writing partner, Sandy Moore, and I have created a book with 54 amazing trips that are within about an hour of Portland! Our motto as we wrote the book was wanting to 'get people to spend the day on the water and not in their cars!'

If you want more information on our book please click on the image of the book below.

Sandy and I are available to attend/present various functions/events. Please email me at mainekayakgirl@gmail.com for more information!

Winter is moving along!

It's almost February!!
There are tulips and daffodils at Hannaford so that must mean spring is near!
I hope that everyone has had a nice winter so far and have managed to stay warm.  We have had some COLD temps this month, but also had some warm days.

I figured I would share some pics of my winter so far...

First... A NEW kayak!!!
Ok... it's not NEW.. it's used...
And it isn't mine... but it is in my garage!  This is my sister's new boat!   A pungo 120, nice boat.  I am so excited she wanted her own kayak!

I got a chance to go to NY with my stepsister to visit my sister and her kids.  This photo is one I had to share.  Many of you know I am very tall... 6'6"... My nephews are catching up to me.  This is my middle nephew, a sophomore in high school... with his skates we were about eye to eye!  How crazy is that? (The short chick is my not so short sister... she is 5'8... on a good day!)

Of course I have had some adventures with Miss Gladys!
This was taken on the one year anniversary of me adopting her.  What a year it has been.  She is a very sweet dog and I am glad she is a part of my life.  I look forward to getting back on the water with her this year.

We also have taken some walks on the very cold beach!  (Short walks!)

I just like this photo of Gladys looking back at me!

Hope you are all well and are beginning to plan your spring paddling adventures!!!
